Please use office hours for communication with Sophie.  This will allow her to concentrate on coaching and teaching our kids when she is on deck.

Head Swim Coach

Sophie has been swimming competitively since she was 6 years old. She swam for Skyline High School where she lettered in swimming, volleyball and water polo. She has been coaching for the Cottonwood Country Club for four years as an assistant coach and this will be her second year as head coach. She currently attends BYU and is studying business and communications while managing the swim and dive teams there. She loves to swim open water races, hike, bike, paddleboard, and travel. Her favorite color is green (of course) and her favorite food is sushi! She is so excited to get to coach again this summer and can't wait for another amazing season with her favorite Green Machine!

Adam Shelton

Assistant Swim Coach

Adam is currently attending the University of Utah pursuing a Bachelors degree in economics. He has been swimming competitively for over 8 years, completing in age group state, 4 years Skyline High School, Far Westerns, Zones, and Sectionals. In high school he claimed 11 gold medals in 4A state championships winning the 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 100 back, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. He holds a state record and two Skyline school records. He was a State Heisman finalist, scholastic all-American and named Skyline Male Athlete of the Year in 2016. He swam for the University of Utah on scholarship where he qualified for Nationals in sprint freestyle and butterfly. Throughout his college swimming experience, he had the opportunity to train under ex-Olympians and national record holders. Adam loves swimming because it's easy to see results with hard work in practice. It has taught him lessons about patience and dedication in life that are invaluable.

Jordyn Weight

Jordyn started swimming competitively at age 10 and has loved it ever since. Every since she was little, her life has revolved around swimming. Summers spent at the pool or lake, long hours with her swim team, preparing for a big race and teaching kids to swim are some of her fondest memories form growing up. She has taught swim lessons and coached swimming for 4 years. Jordyn was a member of the Skyline High School state swim championship team for 3 years where she earned 2 medals. Her favorite activities include hiking, boating, skiing, bike riding, reading and listening to music. She is currently a student at BYU studying Communication Disorders. She loved coaching last year and is excited for the upcoming swim season at the Cottonwood Club!

Emma Brooks

Assistant Swim Coach

Emma is so excited to coach swim and dive this summer. She is 19 years old and graduated from Skyline High School in 2018. She currently attends University of California Fresno where she is a member of the Division 1 Water Polo team and studying architecture. She grew up in a big swimming family where they all swam summer country club league and club throughout the winter as well. She also swam while in high school and was a Team Captain her senior year. She has continued to swim ever since she believes it is a great life sport. She hopes everyone's super excited for this summer and is looking forward to getting to know all the swimmers/divers and their families. Go Cottonwood!

Ben Parker

Head Dive Coach

Ben was born and raised in East Millcreek, Utah. He grew up swimming and diving for the Salt Lake Tennis Club. He also played lacrosse all through high school, as well as life guarding at the Cottonwood Club. He graduated from Skyline high in 201. He continued to play lacrosse for the University of Utah for two years. After he was done playing lacrosse he became a founding father and executive officer for the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity at the U. He is now the assistant dive coach at the Cottonwood Club last year and had a blast teaching and hanging with the kids. He is thrilled to come back and coach again this year!
